five simple steps for supporting seniors and their families
the consultation
I’ll begin with a free in-home consultation to discuss your needs for downsizing and moving services. Here are some of the questions I will cover:
Tell me about yourself. I would love to hear your story!
Why are you moving? Physical limitations, finances, to be close to family?
Where do you plan to move to? Nursing home, retirement living, with a relative? Locally or elsewhere?
Who owns your current home?
Who has Power of Attorney? (This person will be required to sign any necessary documents to proceed with the sale of the home.)
What is your moving timeline?
What is your budget for your new home?
Will the proceeds of your current home be used to finance your next step?
Do you have a will?
Do you have a lawyer for real estate and for your estate?
Is there any other information that you think I should know about you and your move
*During our visit it would be helpful to have a tour of your home to assess the scope of services you require and determine how long it will take to get the home ready for sale. Family members are more than welcome to take part if they are able (I can arrange to connect by phone or virtual meeting if they live at a distance).

After our visit, you’ll receive a free no-obligation quotation and agreement for your review. When you are ready to move forward, please sign the agreement and we can get started!
the Plan
We will set up a meeting or series of meetings to discuss, plan and coordinate all the tasks you require to downsize and move. This may include:
Exploring retirement home options (including accompanying you on visits, if you desire).
Interviewing and selecting a realtor (plus support during realtor consultations as desired).
Determining what furniture and personal items will be kept for the new home, and what items will be gifted, donated, or sold.
Providing recommendations and support for hiring a mover.
Determining how you would like your items organized for your next home.
DOWNSIZING
Packing to move, downsizing and preparing the home for sale
After we determine an action plan, the work will begin! This may include arranging for items to be gifted, donated, sold, or disposed of, packing, running errands, deep cleaning and more.
